A natural deodorant balm from London that goes on as a cream and sets to a dry, invisible powder. AKT's Deo-Barrier Complex, a blend of plant and mineral powders including diatomaceous earth and arrowroot, rests on the skin to absorb moisture and neutralise odour, without aluminium salts and without blocking pores. It was tested on stage in London's West End, where a deodorant either works under hot lights or it doesn't.

Why we chose it: it is the first natural deodorant we have found that people who actually sweat keep using. Aluminium-free, vegan, and the tube is aluminium too, so there is no plastic to throw away.

SC.00 is the edition without fragrance: the same balm-to-powder formula, no essential oils, for skin that prefers nothing added and for anyone who wants their perfume to do the talking.

50 ml. One tube lasts 6–8 weeks of daily use.

Break off the nozzle tip and keep it as a plug to reseal the tube.

Squeeze a pea-sized amount onto a fingertip (or AKT's The Applicator) and massage into clean, dry underarms until the balm turns to powder. Once a day is usually enough; reapply after sport if you like. Also works on feet, chest and the small of the back.

Not an antiperspirant: it lets you sweat, it just takes care of the odour and the moisture. The formula contains sodium bicarbonate, so patch test first if your skin is very reactive.

Key ingredients: Deo-Barrier Complex (diatomaceous earth, arrowroot, non-nano zinc oxide, sodium bicarbonate, magnesium oxide), shea butter, calendula, vitamin E. No fragrance, no essential oils.
